Skiing & Snowboarding - what's NOT covered

Snow Insurance is there in case something goes wrong on your snow holiday, but like any insurance policy, there are exclusions. Some of the things that would not be covered are:
  1. Deliberately putting your life in danger

Ducking under the resort boundary rope, dropping off that cornice which has been closed all season, heading out in a blizzard in a t-shirt... These all have the potential to cut short your long term skiing or boarding prospects, and would not be covere if something happened as a result.

  2. Involve alcohol or drugs

Après is an integral part of most snow holidays - we understand it, but you probably won't get your claim paid if something happens whilst you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  3. Travelling out of season

An early or late season dump of snow is fantastic, however our policy will only cover you for trips between 15 December to 31 March in Northern Hemisphere resorts and 15 June to 30 September in Southern Hemisphere resorts.
    This exclusion only applies to:
    2P - PISTE CLOSURE
2Q - BAD WEATHER AND AVALANCHE CLOSURE (DELAY OF RETURN JOURNEY)
    2R - SNOW SKIING BENEFITS
2S - HIRE OF REPLACEMENT SNOW SKIING EQUIPMENT
2T - HIRED SNOW SKIING EQUIPMENT

  4. Skiing or snowboarding on unmarked trails or outside of the resort boundaries

We wont cover you if you ski or board off piste on ungroomed terrain that is not marked into trails within the resort area boundary. You will only be covered whilst you are within the resort or terrain park boundaries.

  5. Participating in high risk snow sports activities

Be aware our policy will not cover you to go bobsleighing, recreational snowmobiling, snow rafting, para-penting, heli-skiing, ski joreing (that's being pulled behind a horse on skis) or any form of power assisted skiing. It will also not cover you for ski acrobatics so you may wish to reconsider the next heli you try to pull off that mogul.
    This exclusion only applies to:
    2P - PISTE CLOSURE
2Q - BAD WEATHER AND AVALANCHE CLOSURE (DELAY OF RETURN JOURNEY)
    2R - SNOW SKIING BENEFITS
2S - HIRE OF REPLACEMENT SNOW SKIING EQUIPMENT
2T - HIRED SNOW SKIING EQUIPMENT

Hints & Tips:

When making the region selection, choose the region where you will spend the majority of your trip and this will also cover you for all other areas you travel to.

For example, if you are spending 3 days in Singapore, 2 weeks in the UK and 4 weeks in Europe, select 'Europe' as your destination and you will be covered in Singapore and the UK also.
